I was just browsing through my “For You” stories on Medium and came across a story by Julia Guerra Slater. The story was “Let’s All Stop Bragging About How Many Countries We’ve Been To” and it caught my eye because it is something I have done in the past. But it was the list of questions at the end which grabbed my attention and have answered below.

How Many Countries

Before digging into the questions, I will make a comment on the idea of counting countries.

It is something I cannot hide, but I am a statistics nerd. If you were to dig back through my old blog, you might just find a few statistics from my travels. Far too many that a not important.

When I was travelling, I proudly counted the countries I had visited. However, I came to realise there are some much more important aspects of travel. These include the experiences you have and the people you meet. I can tell you counting the friends I make travelling is much more satisfying than counting countries.

The Questions

Following are my answers to the nine questions that Julia posed at the end of her story.

What destinations have you…
