Great to see some positive results for you even though you could not focus nearly as much as you planned. I hope that the rest of the month keeps going in a positive fashion and see you reach your goals.
The changes over the past two months are not so demotivating for me. I only just started writing on Medium towards the middle of October anyway, so the change was not so relevant. I can understand how some people will have felt the change heavily and lose motivation.
The thing that is demotivating for me is trying to find the best approach from here. I know if I publish a story no views organically. Even a post published through The Ascent. If I promote through Facebook groups, I can get a few reads. But the tradeoff is not worth it, I will spend 30+ minutes reading posts after sharing mine, to get maybe 2–4 minutes of read time on the post I shared.
I know part of the answer is to strive for curation, which I know is not the holy grail. But has to provide some additional potential from where I am now. However, also know that everything I have published in the past four weeks has the “high volume” message. So my next step is to work on getting published in a Medium owned publication, but I am stumped between half a dozen different stories I am working on and slowly getting no where with.
