I do sell all the individual Lego pieces through a storefront on two different online Lego marketplaces (BrickLink & Brick Owl). It is quite a large industry with over 17,000 sellers on the BrickLink platform alone. With the BrickLink site actually being owned by Lego themselves. While it could be seen as competition, it actually provides significantly more range than Lego could offer especially vintage parts and other parts which are no longer produced.
