I can very much understand this feeling. I almost feel like they are not so much friends as mere acquaintances.

The few people that I see the most often, it almost always feels like I am the one that attempts to organize something. Which is ok sometimes? But the annoying part can be when you run into them and they say, “I have not heard from you in a while.” All you feel like saying is funny I have not heard from you either.

One time I called a friend out on this and she even agreed that friendships should be where both parties get involved in staying in touch. But it turned out it was too much effort for her, and I have not seen her in about 3 or 4 years.
