I have a feeling that I am more likely to fit into the maladaptive perfectionist category. With a real possibility of it being socially-prescribed. Many of those signs do also seem to show up for me at different times.

An interesting approach I remember reading about many years ago was to aim for 90% of your perfect. If you are a true perfectionist, 90% of your perfect will often meet a standard higher than many other people. The 90% mark was identified because it was still a very good standard, and for each 1% over that it could often take twice as long to edge that bit closer to perfection. Of course, the only problem is that percentages or perceptions of perfect are fluid and rarely identifiable in any specific instance.
