I spent a few years working at a company that used Excel in a rather simple way. It had a handful of sheets designed to fit on A4 pages and a range of data that was entered to create a balance sheet.
The number of times the so called protected cells (with a password) lost their formulas mysteriously. It was beyond me, every few days the worksheet needed to be repaired. Excel is a very flexible program, but maybe it’s simplicity is also it’s undoing.
