I will admit that for a period before moving into the 15,000 steps a day, I did struggle to achieve 10,000 as well. It can be rather difficult if you are fitting it around a job or family, I will also add.
If you want to build towards achieving a goal like this, I would suggest working towards a goal that is just above what you find easy. So if that is 7,000 or 8,000, even start there. Then make a commitment to do that for 30 days. As you build a chain of successful days, you will become more driven to stick to it. After 30 days, move the goal post, 500 or 1000 steps and keep your string of days rolling.
