I wonder how much of the transparency comes in some part from trying to keep up with and move ahead of Tesla. Combined with an industry with a lot of players all trying to get funding and the attention of the car makers.

I think we are going to see more and more industries turning to transparency in the fight for market share. Of course, some will do it well and others not so much. If only we could see some better transparency from the pharmaceutical industry.
