If this type of writing was not generating income for these people it would not be so prolific. I can promise you there are not hundreds of articles on these topics because the people writing them are not making any money. Whether it is pennies from people clicking on by accident or not is irrelevant, they are using the data provided to them to work out what to write.

I do not think any particular topic should be banned or demonetised. As soon as you go down this route it does not end. You end up with a platform where no body wants to write or read because the censorship police might knock them off. You start banning topics and Medium will sink faster than the Titanic.
