It is a tough choice. I have been engaging more than ever in the last few months and yes I am getting a little income from my writing (woohoo $20 last month).
I have found that a string of people have been running around with fake engagement as well. Throwing some claps on a dozen stories, no reading, no response, just claps and it is annoying but at least east to see and block that user.
