This is a good read. I have been seeing the high volume messages recently on my posts as well. In the past I have not been curated and have only been writing on Medium for about 5–6 weeks.

Mine is not consistent though. The first three stories I posted all said “were not selected.” The next four alternated between “high volume” and “not selected” with my last nine stories all marked “high volume”. Those last nine started from 2nd of November.

I suppose there must still be people getting curated, but it is rather disillusioning to find that we dont even get a look. It would be nice if Medium did have a little more transparency around what they are doing.
